2. Combine Harvester

Even the small scale to mid-scale grain farmers can earn great benefit by using a combine. A combine uses a complex system of gears, wheels, belts and blades to get grain out if the crops.

3. Ploughs

A plough is an equipment which is used as an attachment to the tractor dragged behind it. It uses long blades to cut furrows in the topsoil where seeds are sown. It not only loosens and turns the earth or soil, but also helps in removing the upper surface wild vegetation or weeds not intended to be near the crops. Ploughing is first and very essential step in farming as the soil on any farm needs to go through several modifications to get it prepared for planting.

It may seem to be simple enough, but different plough function differently and each type is made to suit to a specific type, soil condition and crop type.

4. Harrows

Where ploughing is an initial step, harrowing is the secondary step to further prepare the seedbed for agricultural work. It breaks down clods of the soil, to make soil surface leveled and restructured for good crop growth. It also removes the weed and residue to make it easier for new plants to root deeper and grow better. Harrows can also be used even after planting seeds, distributing manure and fertilizer, as it helps in breaking up clods and distributing the fertilizer more evenly.
